Walton School is located in the heart of the mighty Waikato. We are 8 minutes from Matamata, 35 minutes from Hamilton, and 45 minutes from Tauranga and Rotorua.
Our school caters for New Entrants through to Year 6. We have six classrooms, large multi-purpose room, playground, two large sandpits, swimming pool, double tennis courts, large playing field, and admin area.

We have great staff who are passionate about providing the best education for all of our children. We try to keep our class sizes as low as possible to allow students plenty of contact time with teachers. We have additional staff members (teacher aides) who support some of our students with their learning.

We believe we offer every student a great primary education where they will be challenged, provided with new learning opportunities and ultimately thrive as a learner. Students who leave our school for intermediate and beyond always look back at their time here fondly and positively.

Meet our Principal

Kia ora! Hello!

My name is Jeremy Kurth and I have the absolute privilege of being the Walton School Principal.

I am proud to say that our school has that good old country feel to it whilst still ensuring our kids are 21st century learners who are ready for an exciting tech-filled future.

Walton School's motto is to Stand Tall & Proud (Tu Maia, Tu Rangatira) which aligns with our school logo of a tall proud oak tree. To help the students achieve this we believe strongly in our school values of SPIRIT (see our values page for more about this)

As Walton Principal I believe in providing the best possible environment for our teachers to teach in and our students to learn in. I am very passionate about our excellent school and am committed to making it a place of excellence.

Please find attached schedules for each sport for tomorrow, if anyone is wanting to pop in and watch any games.

Also a reminder to let either Mandy in the office, or Karen Russell know by lunchtime today, whether you will be taking your child directly to their sporting venue in the morning. Thanks!

Cotter Cup

Cotter is this Wednesday, and we have lots of our senior students participating! Please find attached important information regarding our day.

T-shirts for those who need them will be handed out on Tuesday.

Please remember to bring all necessary playing gear. No mouth guard or shin pads, no play.

If you are able to take your child directly to their allocated venue in the morning please either email Mandy in the office or Karen Russell before lunchtime Tuesday.

Swimming Certificates

Swimming certificates were presented to recipients today in their classes.

We apologise for these not being handed out at an assembly, but due to an extremely full and busy timetable we chose to present them in class.

Congratulations to everyone who earned a place in our senior swimming sports - well done!
