Walton School is located in the heart of the mighty Waikato. We are 8 minutes from Matamata, 35 minutes from Hamilton, and 45 minutes from Tauranga and Rotorua.
Our school caters for New Entrants through to Year 6. We have six classrooms, large multi-purpose room, playground, two large sandpits, swimming pool, double tennis courts, large playing field, and admin area.

We have great staff who are passionate about providing the best education for all of our children. We try to keep our class sizes as low as possible to allow students plenty of contact time with teachers. We have additional staff members (teacher aides) who support some of our students with their learning.

We believe we offer every student a great primary education where they will be challenged, provided with new learning opportunities and ultimately thrive as a learner. Students who leave our school for intermediate and beyond always look back at their time here fondly and positively.

Meet our Principal

Kia ora! Hello!

My name is Jeremy Kurth and I have the absolute privilege of being the Walton School Principal.

I am proud to say that our school has that good old country feel to it whilst still ensuring our kids are 21st century learners who are ready for an exciting tech-filled future.

Walton School's motto is to Stand Tall & Proud (Tu Maia, Tu Rangatira) which aligns with our school logo of a tall proud oak tree. To help the students achieve this we believe strongly in our school values of SPIRIT (see our values page for more about this)

As Walton Principal I believe in providing the best possible environment for our teachers to teach in and our students to learn in. I am very passionate about our excellent school and am committed to making it a place of excellence.

Reminder NO Bus (town & Waharoa)

Reminder that there is no Waharoa and Town bus run today AND tomorrow - while the school bus gets new signage/graphics.

The Walton bus (Cambridge Travel Lines bus) is running as normal.

Our bus not running later this week...

17 Mar 2026

Our school bus (Waharoa & town runs) will not operate on Thursday afternoon and all day Friday. This is because it will be going in to get the sponsor signage decals put on it. So we will do it on Thursday morning, but that's it for the rest of the week. It will be back to normal on Monday next week.
Reminder, no assembly this week due to our seniors on camp :)

Junior Netball - Years 4-6

Information for anyone interested in playing junior netball this season. Permission slips can be found on Skool Loop Forms. Please have permission submitted by Wednesday 25th March.

Some key information:
Fees: remain at $40 per player
Day/Time: Tuesday afternoons, games will start at 4.00pm
Game Format: 7v7 (normal positions GS, GA, WA, C, WD, GD, GK. Goals will remain at the shorter height)
Mini Tournament 21st April
Primary Netball will run from 28th April through to 30th June.
Games times will start at 4.00pm

Mini Tournament being held on Tuesday 21st April with games starting at 4.00pm, there is no cost to enter this.

Uniform order - Term 1, 2026

Reminder - if you would like to order, please do so today. There won't be another order until at least Term 3.

If you would like to order items from the (non-compulsory) school uniform, please go to "Forms" on Skool Loop, to place your order.

Polo's = $38 (adult sizes $45)
Hoodies = $75 (adult sizes $90)

Size guide is attached, as well as images of the uniform.

(Reminder that we supply uniform for school sports).

Deadline is Monday 9 March- invoices will be sent on Monday and we would appreciate immediate payment. They will be delivered 10weeks after orders are submitted - so expect the uniforms by mid-Term 2.
