Policies & Annual Reports

Walton School is located in the heart of the mighty Waikato. We are 8 minutes from Matamata, 35 minutes from Hamilton, and 45 minutes from Tauranga and Rotorua.
Our school caters for New Entrants through to Year 6. We have six classrooms, large multi-purpose room, playground, two large sandpits, swimming pool, double tennis courts, large playing field, and admin area.

We have great staff who are passionate about providing the best education for all of our children. We try to keep our class sizes as low as possible to allow students plenty of contact time with teachers. We have additional staff members (teacher aides) who support some of our students with their learning.

We believe we offer every student a great primary education where they will be challenged, provided with new learning opportunities and ultimately thrive as a learner. Students who leave our school for intermediate and beyond always look back at their time here fondly and positively.

We'd love to see you become a part of the Walton Way.

Meet our Principal

Kia ora!  Hello!

My name is Jeremy Kurth and I have the absolute privilege of being the Walton School Principal.

I am proud to say that our school has that good old country feel to it whilst still ensuring our kids are 21st century learners who are ready for an exciting tech-filled future.

Walton School's motto is to Stand Tall & Proud (Tu Maia, Tu Rangatira) which aligns with our school logo of a tall proud oak tree. To help the students achieve this we believe strongly in our school values of SPIRIT (see our values page for more about this)

As Walton Principal I believe in providing the best possible environment for our teachers to teach in and our students to learn in. I am very passionate about our excellent school and am committed to making it a place of excellence.

If you want the best education for your child then I'd love to have the opportunity to show you around our school and have a chat to you about your child's exciting future with us :)

Kind regards,
Jeremy Kurth

Student Led Conferences
16 Jun 2026

Student Led Conference (SLC) bookings are now open

Wednesday 1 July, 1.20-6pm

SLC s are a chance for our tamariki to show off their wonderful learning from the year - a time for them to shine! Parents/whanau would have received the written report prior, so there shouldn’t be any surprises when attending their child’s SLC, more so a celebration of their learning :) It’s great having more than one SLC taking place in the classroom as it creates a real buzz, which is why we try to book at least four in each slot. So when you arrive, come on in!

How do I book for a SLC?

These are available to book through Skool Loop. Go to “Bookings”, then select 'Term 2 2026 SLC', then the teacher/s (multiple choices if you have children in more than one class), “date”, then “time”.

What time are SLCs?

Time slots will be shown on the booking form on Skool Loop, however, the overall time frame is from 1:20pm through to 6pm. They’re scheduled for every 20 minutes, apart from a short break around 4pm for teachers.

If you are new to this and have any questions, or have any issues then get in touch with Mandy to book your slot/s.

Notices from the Office:
15 Jun 2026

School Photos: I've received an email from the photographers, that they apologise for the hold-up in getting the school photos to us. The reason for the delay is they have had some some disruption to their small team with someone unable to work due to an injury.  They say they are working hard to get them to us.

Uniform: If anyone wanted to purchase a polo and/or hoodie, then please let me know ASAP (by the end of today), as I should have enough to put in an order for at least the polos, not yet enough to make up the minimum order for the hoodies.

thanks,
Mandy
