Walton School is located in the heart of the mighty Waikato. We are 8 minutes from Matamata, 35 minutes from Hamilton, and 45 minutes from Tauranga and Rotorua.
Our school caters for New Entrants through to Year 6. We have six classrooms, large multi-purpose room, playground, two large sandpits, swimming pool, double tennis courts, large playing field, and admin area.
We have great staff who are passionate about providing the best education for all of our children. We try to keep our class sizes as low as possible to allow students plenty of contact time with teachers. We have additional staff members (teacher aides) who support some of our students with their learning.
We believe we offer every student a great primary education where they will be challenged, provided with new learning opportunities and ultimately thrive as a learner. Students who leave our school for intermediate and beyond always look back at their time here fondly and positively.
We'd love to see you become a part of the Walton Way.
Meet our PrincipalKia ora! Hello!
My name is Jeremy Kurth and I have the absolute privilege of being the Walton School Principal.
I am proud to say that our school has that good old country feel to it whilst still ensuring our kids are 21st century learners who are ready for an exciting tech-filled future.
Walton School's motto is to Stand Tall & Proud (Tu Maia, Tu Rangatira) which aligns with our school logo of a tall proud oak tree. To help the students achieve this we believe strongly in our school values of SPIRIT (see our values page for more about this)
As Walton Principal I believe in providing the best possible environment for our teachers to teach in and our students to learn in. I am very passionate about our excellent school and am committed to making it a place of excellence.
If you want the best education for your child then I'd love to have the opportunity to show you around our school and have a chat to you about your child's exciting future with us :)
Kind regards,
Jeremy Kurth

Thankfully, the issue has been identified and resolved. The water tank should take 1-2 hours to reach the point where the system works, meaning we will be able to run the full day of school. There should be no need for chn to be collected at 11:30am.
Morena. We've arrived at school to discover our 30,000 L tank empty. This means we have no running water at school. Needless to say, this is a major issue. Hutchies is coming out to try and resolve the problem, but even then, we'll need the tank to refill to the point water can pump out to our system to be usable.
We're going to get every child a 600ml bottle of water, and we're able to use buckets of water from the pool for temporary toilet water flushing.
HOWEVER, if the water is not operating by 11:30am we will put out a message requiring all chn to be colected from school immediately.
We know this is a serious inconvenience, but it is a health issue for a number of reasons.
Please pass this message onto anyone who might need to know in preparation of picking up chn if required.
Find attached netball draw 5th May.

IMPORTANT: Parents/whanau must OPT IN their child to Launchpad. As such, please complete the permission form on ‘Skool Loop’ if you’d like your child to participate.
If your child attended last year, then they are on the list to attend the sessions this year. Please let your classroom teacher know if they will no longer participate.
Those participating will be combined in the staffroom as a group with two Launchpad teachers (Jules & Marty). Students will be given workbooks that assist the values and teachings being taught each week.
Launchpad sessions will begin this Friday (1 May) and weekly every Friday from 10am - 10:30am.
