Policies & Annual Reports

Walton School is located in the heart of the mighty Waikato. We are 8 minutes from Matamata, 35 minutes from Hamilton, and 45 minutes from Tauranga and Rotorua.
Our school caters for New Entrants through to Year 6. We have six classrooms, large multi-purpose room, playground, two large sandpits, swimming pool, double tennis courts, large playing field, and admin area.

We have great staff who are passionate about providing the best education for all of our children. We try to keep our class sizes as low as possible to allow students plenty of contact time with teachers. We have additional staff members (teacher aides) who support some of our students with their learning.

We believe we offer every student a great primary education where they will be challenged, provided with new learning opportunities and ultimately thrive as a learner. Students who leave our school for intermediate and beyond always look back at their time here fondly and positively.

We'd love to see you become a part of the Walton Way.

Meet our Principal

Kia ora!  Hello!

My name is Jeremy Kurth and I have the absolute privilege of being the Walton School Principal.

I am proud to say that our school has that good old country feel to it whilst still ensuring our kids are 21st century learners who are ready for an exciting tech-filled future.

Walton School's motto is to Stand Tall & Proud (Tu Maia, Tu Rangatira) which aligns with our school logo of a tall proud oak tree. To help the students achieve this we believe strongly in our school values of SPIRIT (see our values page for more about this)

As Walton Principal I believe in providing the best possible environment for our teachers to teach in and our students to learn in. I am very passionate about our excellent school and am committed to making it a place of excellence.

If you want the best education for your child then I'd love to have the opportunity to show you around our school and have a chat to you about your child's exciting future with us :)

Kind regards,
Jeremy Kurth

Latest Notices

Last week for Ag Day forms
17 Aug 2026

It's awesome receiving all the forms, and hearing all the unique pet names and how cute their animals are!

Ag & Pet Day forms are due in by Friday.  Children are getting regular reminders, so if you see that their form is still in their bags, can you please remind them to make sure it is handed in?

Reminder that Create a Pet will now be done at home. As per earlier comm's, they are to be brought into school on the Monday of Ag Day week (not earlier).  So keep those toilet rolls, and boxes, so they can come up with their creations!

Trophies should all be back now as well.

We will not be making any late changes, so please ensure you have correct information into the Office by the end of this week, to avoid disappointment.

Booklets are pinned at the top of Notices, if you're after any information.

And if you're able to donate for the Weaned Calf Fundraiser, then please get in touch with Mandy or Stu Muckle (if you haven't already).

Thanks!

This is INSANE!!!!
13 Aug 2026

Kia ora, Walton Whānau.
There is an INSANE amount of lost property here (the photo doesn't do it justice how much there is!) And some of this is really good stuff, too!
We have been putting this out for weeks, and so much remains unclaimed. We will be getting rid of every single piece of lost property on our school grounds by the end of tomorrow, so if your child is missing anything, you will need to tell them to actually collect it, or it's gone forever.
Sadly, the majority of it is not named, so it can't be returned. We urge you to name your child's stuff so it can find its way back to them, especially because if they leave it around tomorrow, it's gone!
